Waves Paintings
The two paintings of waves were made after a visit to the Butt of Lewis one February.
The wind was blowing force nine and it was difficult to walk; I sat for a morning watching as the great rollers drove in to crash on a rocky shore line. The small painting of the Rocks at Rhue was another sort of day entirely, when the sea was calm and the sky molten as the sun went down in the North West. The cliffs at Mangurstad are majestic at the edge of the ocean, the sea is always restless here with remnants of the swell around the rocks.
